Google Voice Transcription Fails

But it fails in all kinds of funny ways.

Ever since Google Voice came out, I have been getting requests to leave people messages. They have ranged from sexy, to silly, to just rambling because I have lost original ideas. Even so my messages may not have been the best or the most original or funny, the transcriptions are all full of win in their fail.

Behold two wonderful example:

and then this is jules from connect it’s dan calling i’m just wondering if the or get i believe it’s 2,007 a making audited in and i need some some naked video game playing time so if you could please give me a call back so that we can have some naked video game time if not i will be sure to steal your towel because yeah we can give you a time is still good maybe we can watch jack’s file as were naked doing to give you some other stuff i don’t know i really sock let’s see how this could be translated

hello antony this is jules your friendly neighborhood connects danny calling you right now so ryan in I T H E A S 1 we have is that that google voice does not understand next and because so far everybody that i phoned goodwill voice has not translated that the conversation properly so i don’t know if it is me or if it’s michael voided or what the hell’s going on but anyways with you think about that it is another 28 days input white with the drinking tournament do you have your possibly together i know you do stevens have your green cards are you excited i know i am account week we are going to kick some pass somehow

At the end of the day, Google Voice is great if you want to give out a phone number without having to give out your phone number. However, if you rely on it to give you transcriptions of your messages in e-mail so that you don’t need to listen to them right away, you will get nothing more reliable than some good old fashioned entertainment.
