More Pretty Pictures From Space

Published on August 6, 2009 by Jules   ·   No Comments

Here are some images from Spitzer.  These are Spitzer’s first warm images.

NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope is a space-based infrared observatory which is part of NASA’s Great Observatories program.

The above image is of what is known as DR22, a cloud bursting with new stars in the Cygnus region of the sky.

This above image is of a relatively calm galaxy called NGC 4145.

And this final image is of a dying star called NGC 4361.

To read more about Spitzer visit http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/spitzer/main/index.html and read Dr. Phil Plait’s blog on these images.
